Ansel Adams was a photographer that captured the environment around him. His timeless images in black and white create a feeling of happiness when I see them. Adams is one of my artist heroes because his photos have been hanging in my house since I was a child and I always looked at them for inspiration when I didn't have any.

- Line- The of the lake lead the eye through the photo.
- Color- The black and white image creates a contrast rather than different colors creating the contrast.
- Shape- The lake creates a new shape, so does the reflections in the lake. The mountains create the shape in the background.
- Texture- The mountains and the snow on them create texture in the mountains and in the reflection on the lake.
- Space- The black and white background creates positive space in the mountains and lake while the negative space in the area around the lake and the sky.
- Value- The values are strong in the photo because of the high contrast.
- Unity- There is unity in the strong blacks and strong whites.
- Balance- There is a sort of balance in the contrast with the mountains and lake on either side brightening up the dark middle.
